The BJD strategy for surveillance is to maintain a set of core indicators for measuring the burden / impact of MSC’s and the provision of healthcare and resources. Projects / task forces in regions and member countries are then initiated or suggested which are designed to assess the core indicators at the regional and national level. This work is leading to the completion of an atlas for MSC’s which will ultimately be available on a global basis, allowing national and regional comparisons to be made.
