Healthy ageing and self-care – the BJD has proposed a commitment to the European Innovation Partnership on Active and Healthy Ageing to develop a Musculoskeletal Data Research Analysis Tool and programmes for promotion of active and healthy ageing through self-care.
The work relates closely to the WHO Strategic Objective for promotion of active and health ageing for all individuals (WHO Strategic Objective 4).
The initiative will focus on providing data research and the tools that deliver data research. An important element of the programme will develop a knowledge base of the impact of musculoskeletal diseases (MSD’s) on frailty and will identify best practices in MSD self-care, workplace assessment, and health assessment leading to the provision of web-based self-care guidelines for MSD’s.
