Launch of the EU Health Policy Platform on 21 April 2016

Professor Tony Woolf, Chair of the International Coordinating Council, attended a meeting held by DG Sante in Brussels on 21 April 2016 “Towards better prevention and management of chronic diseases”. At this meeting a new tool was announced : the EU Health Policy Platform. This tool aims to support the work on the first thematic networks. These include health inequalities, patient safety, health workforce development and mental health. This tool will help to share working documents, post publications, organise and prepare meetings and events.

A specific “chronic disease” group has been established, which we are being invited to join. Others may do so if they wish at https://webgate.ec.europa.eu/hpf/

The EU Health Policy Platform (HPP) was first presented in Brussels on 5th April to a large group of health stakeholders from the 52 EU-level umbrella organisations that were members of the Health Policy Forum that preceded the HPP.
