Kim Miles is currently Chief Executive of the New Zealand Orthopaedic Association, and Executive Director, Decade of Bone and Joint New Zealand, positions he has held for the last ten years. Prior to these roles Kim has been Chief Executive of the Researched Medicines Industry Association, the Wellington Manufacturers Association and Rhone Poulenc New Zealand Limited.(formerly May and Baker NZ Ltd)

Kim is a graduate from Victoria University, Wellington, and in his early career worked in the Agrochemical and Veterinary Divisions of May and Baker before moving into the pharmaceutical sector as Chief Executive of the company that became Rhone-Poulenc New Zealand Ltd.

In his current position with the New Zealand Orthopaedic Association he has a strong role in representation for the profession as well as advocacy and public relations. He is also responsible for the overall management of the Orthopaedic Advanced Training Programme and the Orthopaedic Continuing Professional Development programme..

In his role as Executive Director, Decade of Bone and Joint, New Zealand Kim has worked closely with the New Zealand BJD programmes, including more recently the preparation and publication of “The Crippling Burden” – a study of the burden of musculoskeletal disease in New Zealand.

Kim brings a strong commercial and administrative background in health to the Advisory Board of the International Coordinating Council, with particular reference to the musculoskeletal sector.
