Death of Stephen Katz, Director of NIAMS-NIH and longstanding member of the USBJI

We are very saddened by the sudden passing of Dr. Stephen Katz who was a strong advocate of the Bone and Joint Decade (BJD) (now know as the Global Alliance for Musculoskeletal Health (G-MUSC) and was heavily involved in the United States Bone and Joint Initiative (USBJI). He helped develop Project 100 to improve education about MSK conditions in medical school curricula and was a key leader for the BJD in the North American region.  Dr. Katz was the Director of the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases of the National Institutes of Health (NIAMS-NIH), where he worked for the past 44 years.
